Dear Popelouchumstah,
We are motoring amain to a relatively early harvest this year, which is, thanks to the changing climate, a more expected outcome, at least in comparison to last year’s excruciating, nail-biting phenological dénouement. [1] But, I”m not writing to shoot the breeze about the weather, rather (and it is my great pleasure) to invite you to join us this summer for some very special wine tasting seminars/vineyard tours. [2] The tasting seminars (featuring 6 wines) will introduce some of the new bottlings (some in shockingly short supply) - Grenache Noir, Ruchè, The Boy Who Cried Terroir, etc. as well as some older vintages and surprises from the library.
The cost of the afternoon seminar/tours is $65 per person; the seminars/tours will begin promptly at 3:00 p.m. at the Popelouchum vineyard. [3] The dates are: August 9th, August 23rd and September 6th though we might possibly add another date if we are not crazy busy with harvest. The season will culminate in a festive harvest dinner at the vineyard on September 27th. The four-course family style dinner will be prepared by our friends, Drew and Ellie Quintana of Inaka Fusion Restaurant in San Juan Bautista, and will feature some ultra-rare bottlings and produce from the Popelouchum Estate. We are still working on some details, so save-the-date for now and watch for the ticket sale announcement soon. The vintage is looking quite promising this year, and I very much look forward to seeing you ‘ere long.
