Elizabeth Schneider over at Wine For Normal People (WFNP) recorded a lovely podcast (above) with the folks at Barra of Mendocino that is good introduction for consumers into the world of organic viticulture and winemaking (at the Made with Organic Grapes standard).
As you may know, I've written about Charlie's recent passing (see here), and before that, I met Charlie many times at Mendocino events. The Taste of Redwood Valley (a three times a year gathering with dinner and wine that Martha used to organize) was one of my favorite events for its down home atmosphere. (It's currently on hiatus, due to Covid).
Fast forward 4 minutes if you want to just get to the interview. Elizabeth does a wonderful job of asking the questions most people want to know about. Martha is excellent at explaining what organics means in the vineyard and Meyer, who is new to the winemaking side, does a good job of comparing and contrasting organic viticulture and winemaking approaches side by side.
